I found that the main character was very easy to relate to and was a character that any reader would want to succeed. He begins as a small boy, not considered strong or athletic enough to succeed on the baseball team. He keeps persevering, and continues to practice and keep his dreams alive. Finally, he is called upon to help the team and he utilizes his height to help him. He ends up scoring a home run and winning the game for his team. I found this book to be such an enjoyable read because the entire time, you are rooting for the young boy and the reader's belief in him carriers through the story as he doubts himself and begins to believe again. The story teaches a powerful message about perseverance and that anyone can succeed if they work hard. ( ) geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
