I thought this book was so cute. This was about a little girl named Shelia who struggled to gain courage throughout the story. I thought it would be a great book to include in my library for my kids to read. Unfortunately, I have 5th grade this semester, so it's a little young to read aloud for, but this would a great read aloud for younger elementary school kids.
www.kevinhenkes.com This is a great website that is extremely user friendly. This is the author's website that not only talks about this book, but also talks about other books he has written.

Have you ever been afraid of something? Sheila Rae was very brave, and was not afraid of anything. She would walk on the crack in the sidewalks, bark at dogs, and walk backwards. She was so brave. But one day, she walked home all by herself. She got lost while walking home and got scared. Will Sheila Rae find her way home and become fearless again?

Sheila Rae is a story about a brave little mouse. Little Shelia is not afraid of anything and everyone is scared of her because of her courage fearlessness. One day Sheila winds up in a place she has never been and got really frightened. This story just shows children that even the bravest person in the world gets scared and that it is okay. Also, through Sheila's sister Louise, we see a fearsome baby mouse learn to be brave. ( )

This book is a good example of fantasy because it involves unbelievable elements such as talking elements, and makes them believable for the storyline.
The setting is modern day neighbor connected to a forest. The setting is important to this story because the forest is what scares the fearless main character.

This is a cute story about a mouse who isn't scared of anything until one day she gets lost on the way home from school. Her sister finds her and knows the way home and the mouse now thinks her sister is the bravest person in the world. Her sister exclaims that they both are fearless and brave. This would be a great book to read to siblings. This would teach them to stick together and care for each other. I would recommend this to first/second graders. ( )

Sheila rae was very brave and was not afraid of anything. She did things other children her age were afraid to do. She even tied a little boy up who stole her jump rope. one day sheila rae decided she wanted to walk home a new way even though her sister, Louise, said it was not a good idea. afetr a while nothing looked familiar to sheila rae adn she became scared. She called for her parents and Louise. Louise jumped out and said, here i am! Sheila rae hugged her and said we're lost! Louis told her that she knew the way home and to follow her. Louise used to be afraid to do the things Sheila Rae did but on the way home she did everything Sheila Rae used to. The two made it home.

“Sheila Rae, The Brave” written Kevin Henkes is great story that talks about bravery and fear. The main character in this story in a little mouse, Sheila Rae; Sheila Rae was a very brave girl and wasn’t afraid of anything. She wasn’t even afraid of thunder and lightning, or big scary dogs. Sheila Rae attacked “monsters” for her sibling, rode a bicycle with no hands, and tied a boy up when he stole her jump rope. One day, Sheila Rae decided to walk home from school a different way, unfortunately she got lost and became scared for the first time. Fortunately, she ended up finding her way home, with help, but was very afraid. This story is best suited for Kindergarten to Third grade students.

Sheila Rae was very brave. She was not afraid of anything. She was not afraid of the dark, thunder or lightning, the black dog at the end of the block, or spiders. She stepped on cracks in the sidewalk; she attacked a monster in her sister's closet; she rode her bicyle with no hands; One day Sheila Rae decided to take a new way home. She was not afraid. She walked backwards, growled at dogs, snarled at cats, turned corners, crossed streets, and finally realised nothing looked familar. Sheila Rae was lost. She started to cry. Her sister had followed her. She showed Sheila Rae how to get home. Now Sheila Rae and her sister were brave together.

This book is very cute and teaches about working together and looking up to your siblings. I would read this to a younger crowd of children. I really liked it and it is a very good book that teaches a very good lesson that you cannot always be the brave one.

In this heartwarming book by Kevin Henkes, Sheila is the brave one in her family. She is not afraid of thunder, lightning, the principal, or stepping on the cracks in the sidewalk. One day, Sheila decides to take a new way home and when her sister Louise refuses, she calls her a scaredy-cat. Sheila discovers she is not so brave when she's lost and alone, but her sister appears just in time to save the day. I thought this book was so good. It is about a girl named Sheila Rae and her sister Louise. Sheila Rae is really brave and not afraid of anything. She rides her bike with no hands and her eyes close and she walks on every crack on the sidewalk. One day, Sheila Rae decides to walk home a new way but her sister Louise was afraid to. Sheila Rae sets off and is not scared of anything. However, she begins to realize that she does not recognize anything around her and she begins to cry because she knows she is lost. All of a sudden out of nowhere, her sister Louise jumps out and tells her that they are not lost and that she knows the way home. They fearlessly make the journey back home together.

Sheila Rae is always brave and tries to act like she is never scared. She pushes the rules at school because she is very confident she won't get in trouble. One day Sheila Rae wants to take a new way home from school, but her sister doesn't think it is a good idea. Sheila Rae goes anyways and is very brave just like always...until she realizes that nothing looks familiar! She gets very scared and just wants her family back. Her younger sister, who was following her the whole time, comes out to comfort her. Her younger sister takes over the role of being brave and leads the two back home. This is a good book for any grade because it shows that it is okay not to be right sometimes and it's okay to be scared.
