It did irritate me to note the author used a firearm as part of the plot but didn’t have the integrity to learn anything about how they work. At one point in the story a firearm is found in a hidden location and one of the characters makes the absurd statement that it could have “gone off and hurt someone.” No. No, it can’t. Guns “go off” when the trigger is pressed. They do not spontaneously fire themselves. The character, by the way, was a police officer who would have known that. Other than that irritation, it was an okay mystery. Not my favorite book in the series. But still pretty good. The thing I like most about these books is learning new things about different types of needlework. This one really didn't talk about the needlework. Just a little bit about running the store, which can really be generalized to any retail business. The mystery portion of the book was fine. No big surprises, but still interesting. Betsy Devonshire hires Foster Johns to fix the roof of her needlepoint shop. She then finds out that everyone in town believes Foster killed two people five years ago. Betsy agrees to look into the murders and try to clear Foster's name. I enjoy this series and you don't have to be into needlework to like them. This book was a little light on the investigating part of the story. geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

HTML: Betsy is still new enough to Excelsior, Minnesota, to not know a scandal when she causes one. So, when she hires Foster Johns to fix her roof, the resulting uproar has her needled. The whole town has pinned a five-year-old unsolved double murder on him. Betsey believes Johns when he says he isn't guilty. But she'll have to use every stitch of her sleuthing skills to tie up all the loose ends that will prove his innocence once and for all. .Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |

In this one, Betsy discovers that the guy she just hired to fix her roof is an outcast in the very small town because he's believed to have murdered a couple people several years ago. Betsy thinks he's a nice guy so she sets out to clear his name. Glad this one was related to a past murder because it's getting kind of unbelievable that so many violent crimes are happening in this very small town. ( )
