As I just said in the past, the Cattle Valley gay soap opera is a mix of full angst, medium angst and totally funny books. In the fictional gay town of Cattle Valley, every possible type of romance is represented, and this time is the bad boy - good boy play that is on. Logan is a tattooed, biker and handsome cowboy. He actually is more fond of bikes than horses, but he has also a crush on Jax, his best friend's older brother, and since the man is a born cowboy, Logan chose the same path to be near him. But during the time he spent to grow up and close the 8 years age difference, Jax had a very bad love experience and now he is cautious when he deals with love. And loving a bad boy cowboy is probably not a good choice if he wants a steady relationship. The book is all spent reading on how both men try to behave in the best possible way to please the other, only ending to make the worst possible errors. There isn't much drama, and also the problems are not so huge to not be easily overcome. The mainly is Logan's trouble with school and his struggle to obtain a GED. This one could be considered a passage book, a relaxing story between some more exciting and fundamental events happening in Cattle Valley. http://www.amazon.com/dp/1907010858/?tag=elimyrevandra-20 geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe

HTML: When Logan Miller pulls up to the EZ Does-It ranch atop a gleaming black Harley, bearing tattoos and killer green eyes, Jax Brolin knows he's in trouble. How can this be the same skinny kid who used to play with his baby brother? Still recovering from a secret affair gone bad, Jax knows his heart can't take another beating. Distancing himself is his only weapon, and he uses it well. Until Logan reunited with his best friend's big brother, he'd thought the best thing to have between his legs was a motorcycle, followed closely by a horse. Now, at the age of twenty-six, Logan wants the man he's fantasised about since puberty. The town may classify Logan as a bad boy, but all he wants is to be is a good man for Jax and he'll do anything to get the man's attention. The blurb sums up what the book is about so I won’t repeat it. Logan has been in love with Jax ever since he was a kid. Logan pretty much made his life choices based on what he believed Jax would want. He molded himself for Jax. Jax is attracted to Logan, but has had his heart broken so he doesn’t want to fall in love again. These characters weren’t as interesting as some of the other ones in the previous books. In fact, Jax and Logan are dull. Nothing makes them unique, and it shows. Also, for tough cowboys, they were free with their feelings and introspection. It wasn’t long before my mind replaced the M/M pairing as an M/F pairing and I couldn’t shake it for the rest of the story.
There is a lot of ‘whiplash’ in this book as the characters have one misunderstanding after the other, only to be solved in a couple of pages and then on to the next misunderstanding as they both continue to jump to conclusions. They clear up their misunderstandings quickly so there’s no real angst. Because of the superficiality of the arguments the MCs had, I couldn’t relate to them or get pulled into the story. I just rolled my eyes and thought, ‘Here they go again.’
There isn’t much of a plot, but there is a lot of telling. I keep reading the books in this series hoping the author’s writing improves or the stories improve, but that hasn’t been the case. I always got the feeling while reading these books that they were churned out in a rush or in order to make money, and this book in particular feels that way. I’m finished with the series, which is a disappointment. The characters could’ve been more interesting, as well as the plot, if the author just took her time, but she fails to deliver. I can only give Bad Boy Cowboy, 2 Stars because it’s the worst of the books in this series I’ve read so far, and I’ve given this series a chance. I wouldn’t recommend it.
