Alice's dad finally marries Sylvia, and after book after book after book in which Alice is obsessed with getting them to marry so she will have a stepmom, now that they are actually married, Alice is kind of uncomfortable having her former English teacher living in the house with her. Not one of the stronger books in the series, it seemed to lack a real focus on one story line or theme. It is also a treat as each book has a few episodes that are quite funny. Including Alice didn't have any hilarious moments.
As a part of a lengthy series, it is fine. It progresses the long story arch of Alice's life, but if someone read it as a stand alone book, it would be pretty weak. ( )

In this book in Phyllis Reynolds Naylor’s Alice series, Alice is excited that her former seventh grade teacher is finally marrying her father, after four years of Alice’s hoping and scheming for them to get together. However, life with her new stepmom is not exactly what Alice had pictured it would be, as she now feels left out and alone. Like the other books in this series, pre-teen and teenage girls will find themselves being able to relate to Alice and all that she and her friends go through at high school and at home (i.e. dates, break-ups, family commitments, overwhelming amounts of homework, etc.) . This book also teaches important lessons about adjusting to life with a new stepmom, dealing with changes in one’s family, and realizing that maintaining effective relationships takes hard work and commitment. The chapters in the book can be long at times (about 15-20 pages each), but the book is fast-paced all the way through. In reading it, it helps to have some familiarity with the characters in the other Alice books in order to fully understand the story. This book is particularly recommended for libraries that have other books in the Alice series. ( )

"Incuding Alice" is a book about a girl her name is Alice her dad is going to get married and she has three best friends and every day she faces alot of problems like ours in real life and in high school and she always work hard and she never give up till she gets what ever she want i can relate to Alice because i never stop working untill i get what i want. ( )

It is wonderful that her dad is getting married but i can imagine that it is difficult to adappt to a new mom and the manican is so LOL! ( )

i LOVED the alice books growing up! i definitely recommend them to all girls around 9-10 and up, and the good news is that she's still writing them! so the series starts out when alice is in elementary school and now she's in high school! ( )
