First solo exhibition of artist Fe?lix Gonza?lez-Torres (b. Cuba 1957, immigrated to the US in 1975, d. Miami 1996) in Argentina. The exhibition brings together close to 20 major works from private and institutional collections in the United States and Europe. Curator Sonia Becce describes this exhibition of "Gonza?lez-Torres at Malba plays in the way of a polyphonic composition, the theme being the idea of love, or rather of a specific idea of love, which runs with varying intensity through the works selected. Love understood as emotion and experience"-P.85. Gonza?lez-Torres' "removable installations" (viewer took pieces of the work) and sculptures that involve features of Conceptualism and Minimalism from the 1960's used materials such as strings of light bulbs, clocks, stacks of paper, or packaged hard candies, metaphors sometimes considered a reflection of his experience with AIDS.
