This is an explanation of why babies, toddlers and pre-school children behave the way they do, and how to deal with them. It examines issues such as: why does your baby fuss, cry and squirm when you hold her?; why do toddlers act in a self-centred way?; why does your child misbehave?; and why does your child constantly test the boundaries of parental control? The author systematically discusses the five key stages of a child's development and the key to behaviour at each stage. The first stage (birth to 18 months) is the stage of trust, the second is identity (18 months to three years), the next is competence (three to four years), and the fourth is power (four to five-and-a-half). The final stage discusses self-control (five to six-and-a-half years). Geen bibliotheekbeschrijvingen gevonden. |
