A summary and compendium of a comic series I have heard about, but haven't yet read. Not bad as an introduction, but probably better read after the comic itself. ( ) This book is chock-full of interesting information about the Bone series that I have been reading this summer. This book contains tidbits about the characters and the collected book editions as well. I skipped the bits about the books that I have yet to read, so I was not spoiled on anything that may be coming up in the series. The book is interesting to read for anyone that truly loves the series. It tells us a bit of where Jeff Smith got the idea for the series and also lets you know why certain choices were made coloring and artistic wise. The only reason that I am not giving this 4 stars is because there were some areas that seemed to be lacking in my opinion. One of these areas was the promised "see how Bone was colored" section because it just seemed to be like "BOOM COLORED" instead of here is a break-down of what goes into it. Outside of that this is an enjoyable behind the scenes book that any fan would enjoy. My blog post about this book is at this link. Reaction: This is a great book to read while reading Book 1. There is actually a lot to take in, a mythical setting, a multitude of characters and humor woven into a witty dialogue. So a handbook for novice graphic novel readers is a wise purchase. I especially appreciated the glossary-words/phrases such as “dreaming eye” or “gitchy” are listed here and help aid with comprehension! geen besprekingen | voeg een bespreking toe
