A change of circumstances, as she goes to live with her brother in the country, solves the problem. She never does realise the impact of her chooks on the poeple who live around her - who really have been very tolerant! The story allows echoes in the mind of the reader as they wonder how the same story might have been told by the neighbours. The Author Leone Peguero had written a number of educational and non-fiction books for both children and adults, but it was her short novel for younger readers Mervyn's Revenge that made her name known nationally. It was an Honour Book in the 1991 Book of the Year Awards. Leone teachers at Box Hill Tafe in Victoria.
