A good example of realistic fiction because a Nate the Great could easily be found amongst groups of friends or in schools; everyone has interests and for Nate it is detective work. When he simply finds a piece of a written document, he searches for the other pieces and cracks the trick another child tries to play on him. Nate teaches the reader that when you have interests and dreams, you should strive to achieve those goals and believe that you can. This story presents interesting dynamics amongst peers and shows that sometimes there will be opposition or people playing practical jokes, but to remain true to your ideas is imperative.
