This book is contemporary religious romance. A difficult style to pull off. As with any romance, it can lack substance. Adding a mystery is a common way to give characters a chance to do something. In this book the Daughety added the mystery. The only problem is that it was possibly the tamest and unadventurous mystery ever! Where Daughety really excelled was in making this a religious romance without being preachy, sad and depressing. All common faults with contemporary religious romances.

Overall the book was tame, but did a great job of overcoming the challenges of christian fiction. ( )

I really enjoyed this book. Love the characters of Kristy and Ace and was truely entertained. Would recommend this to anyone who want to read a light quick love story. I would love to read more of this authors books. ( )

This book contains a combination of romance and faith. I was surprised that I actually liked this book. The faith and the trials that the main character Kristy went through after her fiancée left her at the altar was great. She had to face life and her feelings after what happened. The other main difficulty for her was the love of her job. She had to accept that things were going to change and to accept that.
The other main story was her developing friendship with Ace. He was so open about his feelings for her, but she needn't to accept this to realize her feelings in return. I recommend this book for anyone who likes a romance. ( )

I was very disapointed in this book. I have tried to get past the first quarter of the book in order to give this book a fair evaluation. I found the writng is uneventful, boring, run on and unable to get the reader to connect with the characters. I am unable to finish the book.

Kristy has just returned to her job as a park ranger at Shiloh National Park after being left at the altar. When she reports back to work she finds her job has been given to someone else. Ace Kennedy, who has taken her job, gets off on the wrong foot with spunky Kristy, who has a hard time liking the guy who has taken her place. As they work together Ace is shocked to learn that Kristy no longer believes in true love. As the story progresses he tries to show her true love is happening between them, but when she learns he is keeping secrets she shuts down on giving her heart to another. I enjoyed getting to know Kristy. Her feelings on love were easy to understand. I also enjoyed Ace and the way he drew her out and got her talking about herself and her feelings. I especially liked how this story ended and the things Kristy had to do before she could truly be free from some of her past hurts. The ending of the book put a smile on my face - great job Ace on your "dedication"! Looking forward to reading more in this series! ( )
