Greyfriars Bobby: Bobby's New Adventure door J. Abernethy
This is the story of a famous dog in Scotland named Greyfriars Bobby. He and his cat friend Frankie liked to run and play around Edinburgh and one day they see a soldier who is hurt and he needs to get to the castle to fire off a cannon at 1 pm like he does everyday so the town folk know it is 1 pm so he asks Greyfriars Bobby to help him and go shoot it and Greyfriars gets there just in time and saves the day. There is now a statue build near Greyfriars Bobby's old home where people can go visit.

I liked that this book had a lot of actual historical sites in it mixed in with the story of this dog.

I would use this book to link with lessons about other countries or even about animals in other cultures.… (meer)
