There aren't a lot of books about the business side of making comics. There are even less about web comics. This was and enlightening and sobering read for anyone interested in the possibility of making money from a web comic.

This is the updated version, and even that is now seven years old. Not touched on at all is the rise of both Comixology and Kickstarter. Would definitely read a third edition if it covered emerging topics like that.

Well done Mr. Allen! This story held me in suspense from early in the book through to the bitter end. The father is dead; darkness yearns to be released; who was the father, really?; what is the son's role in all of it and can the darkness be held back?

Author Todd Allen's descriptive language is brilliant and the evil lurking in the darkened corners oozes through the pages. Fear resides within each of us; Darkness knows our fear and eagerly feeds it. Is there redemption for humanity? This is an amazing first novel from a fresh new voice.

Best line: “Just remember, the brighter the light, the darker the shadow.”
