A series of people and creatures are invited to a party, beginning with the titular witch, each one giving a conditional acceptance, provided someone else is invited. The Witch asks for Cat, Cat asks for Scarecrow, and so on, until eventually a group of children is invited. They, of course, ask for the witch to be invited...

I enjoyed reading Witch, Witch Please Come To My Party, and I though it was a great book. The first thing that really stood out to me was the illustration. Every picture was so vivid and gave so much detail. Every character (monster) was drawn so well and had so much detail, the very first picture of the witch was a close up on he face and you could see she had a huge pointy nose with warts and wrinkles all over he face. Every character was like this and it really helped add to the spooky and scary factor of the book. The other thing I really liked about this book was the plot. Throughout the book you think that it is about a actually monster party and it keeps building up and adding characters. Then on the last page it shows all of the “monsters” going to the party but you find out that the monsters are actually kids in costume dressed up for Halloween and they are all heading to a big spooky house for a party. The big idea of this story is about how you can use your imagination to make regular things seem whimsical and like a fantasy.… (meer)
