Fun flirty read with sweet moments. Bit dramatic and ridiculous at times but overall alright. I liked Mia for the most part. Adam was kind of an ass. Not really any character development or depth, about what you expect for instalove type stories. It wasn't bad but I probably won't continue with the series, just didn't grab me enough. 2.5 stars, rounded to 3.

For the Taking is part of the Gaming the System series. I have not read or listened to any other books in this series and found that this was a great introduction for me. I found it to be a true standalone, while, at the same time, making me want to catch up with the rest of the series.
I absolutely love a hot nerd and Lucas Walker absolutely fits that description. The story itself is a bit of a slow burn but the journey is absolutely worth it. Katya is the type to run away from conflict which , in turn, causes more conflict but in the end, she does what she needs to do.
The narration was cast perfectly and adds to my desire to hear more of this series.… (meer)

Wonderful
This is a compelling romance. Mia is auctioning off her virginity; she doesn't date, doesn't want a relationship, but she needs money. Adam wins the auction but seems reluctant to take his property. The reader will likely guess what is going on, but the story is so well-written and the protagonists so endearing that the way they get there keeps you enthralled.

Not many stories reduce me to tears any more, but this second part of Adam and Mia's story did. The chance of studying at one of the best schools causes friction between the protagonists. Mia maintains her fierce independence while Adam needs to control everything. A breakdown in communication leaves them lost. Story one was from Mia's point of view, this is Adam's tale. Excuse me while I go and buy book three.
