This little story of a small child who wants to plan a garden and cheer up her piratically dead grandmother is very well written. The author uses, dialect, and descriptive language to describe the life of Tina. As a female protagonist the story its from Tina's point of view and the ready experiences the day in the life of a little girl living in a single parent home in New York City. I loved the vocabulary used in this book and I loved pencil sketched drawings. A good read.
