Sebastian Barker (1945–2014)

Sebastian Barker was born on April 16, 1945. He studied natural science at Corpus Christi College, Oxford and received a master's degree in English at the University of East Anglia. Besides writing poetry, he worked as a furniture restorer, a carpenter, a fireman and a cataloguer at Sotheby's. His toon meer collections of poetry include Damnatio Memoriae, The Erotics of God, The Matter of Europe, and The Land of Gold. In 1997, he was elected a fellow of the Royal Society of Literature. He died of a cardiac arrest after suffering from lung cancer on January 31, 2014 at the age of 68. (Bowker Author Biography) toon minder
