Michael D. Barr is Associate Professor in International Relations, Flinders University, Australia. This is his fifth authored book, following Lee Kuan Yew: The Beliefs Behind the Man (2000, 2009), Cultural Politics and Asian Values: The Tepid War (2002, 2004), Constructing Singapore: Elitism, toon meer Ethnicity and the Nation-Building Project (written with Z. Skrbi, 2008), and The Ruling Elite of Singapore: Networks of Power and Influence (2014). He also co-edited Paths Not Taken: Political Pluralism in Post-War Singapore with C.A. Trocki (2008) and The Limits of Authoritarian Governance in Singapore's Developmental State with L.Z. Rahim (2019). He was Editor-in-Chief of Asian Studies Review from 2012 to 2017. toon minder
