Fine collection of vintage and contemporary photos examining the presence of the railroad in small Nebraska towns and villages. The railroad was the very instrument of small town existence, and it is interesting to see the changes that brought the decline and death of so many communities.

I was a railroad man's daughter, and small town depots and daily trains were the facts of my daily childhood. I find these photos and this story basic to my life, and I enjoyed the book very much. Wish my dad could have seen it. He would have loved it.… (meer)
