Gli Inca erano abili cesellatori di gioielli, tessitori raffinati e costruttori. Lo studio di Baudin propone l'origine polinesiana di questo popolo che consolidò il suo impero arroccato negli impervi altopiani andini, riuscendo a dominare un territorio vastissimo, dalla Colombia sino a oltre i confini del Cile.
