I enjoyed this book. It is a quick read and perhaps because it is a quick read some things did have a rushed feel. However that did not take away from my enjoyment. We open with Claire dealing with her mother's death. We find out her mother was raised in an orphanage and basically raised Claire by herself. Claire meets a young man at her mother's funeral and he informs her he is a lawyer who needs to speak with her about her mother's estate. And so begins Claire's mystery of who her mother was.The property Claire inherits is haunted. Claire is determined to help the ghost left behind in the house. The part that felt a bit rushed was the romance which takes up much of the middle of the book. Claire and the lawyer have what can be described as a rushed relationship that concludes in a rapid marriage and instant family. However as I said it really did not deter my enjoyment of the book. I think those who enjoy paranormal romances with a bit of history will enjoy this.

Through a secret passageway she finds the paths to new friendships, a magical realm and the fearful Dead Woods and it is there that she will uncover the greatest secret of all, that is if she can survive long enough.

The Curse Of The Dead Woods is a fairytale full of ghosts, kittens and fairies. While there are magical spells and treasure hunts there are also hidden secrets from the past that must be uncovered. What started out as an intriguing story soon turned into a lot of running back and forth and Raven herself spends much of the time denying the painfully obvious. Accompanied by some enchanting illustrations throughout this story there are also a few errors that could not be ignored but overall this not a bad read as a children's book.… (meer)

Amelia finds out in this mystery that has all the elements of a great story that keeps you guessing. After 8 years, Amelia returns to her home where a chill runs down her spine as the ghosts from the past haunt her. Will anyone welcome her home? Can she overcome the pain and heartache she felt all those years ago.

The characters are well developed and I loved how Amelia was a determined young lady who would stop at nothing to find out the truth from that night which changed her life. The author does an amazing job of bringing twists and turns into the story just as the reader gets comfortable. I was very much pleased with the ending and I will say it will be a shock for readers. The question is, can you really come home again? Be sure to absorb every word as the story draws to a unbelievable ending. I can't wait to read the next book from this gifted author.
