"Now Hiring: White House Dog" is about the first daughters who have been begging their parents for a dog. They decide to put a sign in the yard in hopes of getting a dog. Multiple dogs show up and they finally pick THEIR dog. This book uses some rhyming when each dog is introduced. I could use this book to give my students examples of rhyming in literature.

This very creative story about our president's daughter is clearly an exaggeration of events but is truly an enjoyable read. I love all of the different types of dogs and their distinct personalities.

Now Hiring is abot the first daughters. They are very anxious to find the perfect dog, but mom and dad are taking too long to find them one. So, the ceative girls take matters into their own hands and made a sign for the yard advertising, "Now Hiring White House Dog", and boy, did they get some dogs interested in the job. Read this classy, sassy book to find which dog is the perfeect fit for the family.

A certain awkwardness exists in this book as the Obama daughters are never named, and neither is President Obama. However, the illustrations and the well-known public search for a first pet at the beginning of the president's term, refers to the Obama girls. The most emphasis is placed on the different types of dogs "interviewing" for first pet. The story felt muddled and complicated.
