I admit that I bought this book based solely on the title. I mean, how could you resist owning a book named 'Drawing the Kraken'!
I did not expect too much out of it though.
I am trying hard to restrain my enthusiasm and not let myself become carried away by the subject matter - but it is hard not to do so. It's a book that anybody, with the least artistic ability, can just pick up; follow the five or six steps provided; and, end up having drawn themselves an amazing looking sea beast!
I happen to believe that you can stick tentacles on any drawing and make it look better; so, this book is probably going to end up earning far more stars than it deserves; but, what the heck.
I am certain that if you were to plant this book in front of your gothicly minded 10 year old with some cartridge paper and a box of pencils, you could probably find piece for at least a couple of hours. Bargain!

Other books in the series teach you how to draw dragons, werewolves, and other mythical beasts. But, I will probably be happy owning just this one.… (meer)
