Quick read if you're an adult. Fun to go through, interesting facts in it like how neptune is about the size of 50 earths. Very inspiring to learn about space and how it was only recently in time that we even learned Neptune existed (18th century) and are just now discovering a lot more about its weather patterns and the like.

This book I would use for grades 2-4, maybe even 3-5 because of the fact that it is all real photos and there is no story line to it. I think that it would lose the interest of younger children. However I think it is a great book to teach students about weather and things such as why people watch weather, what they observe, how to collect data, etc. Throughout the book there are plenty of fun facts on each page. The New Solar System: Stars by Robin Birch is an excellent book to use when teaching about the solar system. It is an up to date book from a series of books that talks about so many different things about outer space. Some of the things include: what constitutes a planet as a dwarf planet, the study of stars, solar eclipse, and much more. I would use this book as a jumping off point to begin my lesson about the different parts that make up outer space. This book along with the rest of the series would also be a great reference for any of my students to use for writing a paper on the Solar System.… (meer)
