This depends on how far you're interested in the subject matter! It's not really very well-written given that the two authors were actually there at the time.

Some of the material is like news from another star--nationalised industries and indeed inevitable national decline, for example. And some of it is amazingly prescient--the diagram on energy policy could have come from today's newspaper and it looks like we're getting the same thing first with Northern Ireland, secondly with young Afro-Caribbean men, and now with young Moslem men.

To summarise: the book is essential if the subject-matter concerns you, and probably pretty tedious otherwise.… (meer)
