If you have a child crazy about dinosaurs this is a great book to add to your collection. It explains on a child's level all about the words and practices use by the scientists who study fossils - the Paleontologists. What is a fossil? What does Extinct mean? What is petrified wood? What happens in the Paleontologist's lab? Then if gives some really fun ideas for trying out these techniques at home: Petrified - Fossilizing a Sponge; Fossil Clones; and Bugs in Gummy Amber are examples. There is a handy glossary at the end as well as a few bios of famous paleontologists. Great addition to a home library.… (meer)

A companion to the TV show The Orville (or at least to its first season), featuring lots of pretty pictures of various characters, sets, ships, alien planets, and pieces of technology. There's not huge amounts of text, but what there is features some interesting bits of behind-the-scenes information -- for instance, I hadn't realized the ship was in fact a 3D-printed model rather than CGI -- as well as some little bits of commentary on the concepts behind the show and its various elements.
