A fascinating book, full of photographs chronicling some of the current revelers who celebrate Britain's old feast days and festivals. Modern folk celebrants are captivating to me, since I know so many personally and have grown up with some of these traditions -- let's hear it for the ones who dress up and parade, let's hear it for the Morris Dancers and the Gilly suits! Lovely photos of the original Abbott's Bromley antlers, and of the mysterious Burry man. Includes a decent short summary of festivals, and a little bit about the folklore/history.… (meer)
