I read SIncerely, Dane by Ilsa Madden Mills and this short story was such a sweet read.

This is a cute and fun novella that is part of anthology and I hope will eventually be a full length story. Dane and Piper went to school together from high school on and now that Dane’s twin bother is married to Piper’s best friend they end up spending a lot of time together. Piper has always crushed on Dane but believes he has her firmly placed in the friend zone that she just accepts their relationship as is until one night a text makes her think about more. Dane hasn’t had it easy in life, he derailed at one point, and his relationship with Ari fizzled out because deep down I truly believe he’s always felt like Piper was his. In this story Dane comes to Piper’s apartment dressed as a werewolves and so the chaos ensues. He recruits her to help with a scavenger hunt that ends with an epic ending/beginning. The tension between them was tangible, the chemistry off the charts, and the can they will they flowed off the pages. I rally hope we get more of their story!!… (meer)

In this anthology we have amazing authors that I am dying to read all of these short stories. So far I have read Heir of Sin by Holly Renee….

Heir of Sin:

This brief taste of Emilia and Mateo is so delicious you crave to know more. Emilia is in a difficult situation with her incredibly cruel stepfather but to get the freedom that she not only craves but needs she has to do a job for him. She is to get Mateo to fall for her so her stepfather can take that family down. What Emilia wasn’t expecting was her intense connection and chemistry with Mateo, but with the way this short story ends we are left on pins and needles dying to see what will happen next. Will Emilia gain her freedom or has she just destroyed her only chance to escape her stepfather? What will happen between her and Mateo? I can’t wait for this duet to come out I just know it will be so good.

I can’t wait to read the others because I know they will truly be amazing.

Make You Mine by Shantel Tessier:

Whoa an intense rollercoaster ride full of dark twisted elements that leave you craving for more. So many secrets, lies, deception no one is completely innocent in this world. The Reapers run not only the school but town too and can get away with anything. Alyssa is a spunky girl who despises her stepmother so she finds the leverage she needs, but this leads the Reapers straight to her door. With plans to keep each other safe and protected their targets are set on her and will do what they need to bring her down. This is going to be an intense and crazy ride that I can’t wait to devour and I can’t wait for more!!… (meer)

It’s been done before and done better. Also, I didn’t really like the narrator as she sounded very juvenile.

Sincerely, Dane - Ilsa Madden-Mills - 3 Stars - Dane and Ava - A cute story. I loved the scavenger hunt and how it didn’t end the way I expected it to end.

Dark Eyes - Karina Halle - 3 Stars - Amethyst, Wolf, Shannon, Ezra - It was nice to see a PNR twist in the middle of all the contemporary stories in this anthology. This was an interesting examination of who the real monsters are. This world shows me more and more of that every day.

What If… - K. Bromberg - 3 Stars - Shiloh ”Shy”, Jake - I liked the set-up of this second chance even if it involved one leaving their fiancé (who we could all tell was wrong for her)

F*ck - Tijan - 3 Stars - Tysan Koda, Kase Crow, Aiden - Why did I find this story so hot. At first, I was disenchanted by the thought of another jerk hero but that somehow melted away.

The Dress - Colleen Hoover - 3 Stars - Can’t Remember the Names - A woman chooses herself over a superficial man. It was okay. I think I am fatigued from all of these stories.… (meer)

This was the first book that I have read by Meagan Brandy so I went in not knowing what to expect.
I was left with pure emotional damage. Meagan made my heart beat and flutter and left me with such anticipation of what is going to happen next. And then she tore it right out to a thousand pieces. And then gently pieced the pieces back together.

I didn't expect this at all. I thought it would only be a steamy story (it is steamy, so don't you worry about that!) but I got much more than I expected. Lust, tension, anticipation, fear, sadness.... you name it and I probably felt it. I cried especially hard for this being a fictional story.

I normally choose not to read books that might make me cry, but I am glad I read this one. What I loved most was the concepts of love. A love that never goes away or disappears no matter what.… (meer)
