This book does a great job of illustrating hard days where you don't feel yourself. The illustrations are also very beautiful and unique and add the story so much. This is a great book for all elementary ages because the illustrations are attention grabbing and kids are likely to emphasise with Edies big emotions.

Could not get the gist of this story. Edie seems depressed and no once acknowledging this. She was somewhat bullied in school and did to belong in school with friends or felt a home with her mom. A range of emotions throughout the story...not sure Edie found her way to be comfortable with her own feelings as the story suggests.

This beautiful book conveys the raw emotions of depression and being bullied at school, but seems lacking in its resolution of these problems. Best suited for a slightly older child (6-8y) that needs encouragement to talk about their problems with a trusted adult.

The writer took great pains to describe the subjects' struggles and assesses in a fair way the subjects' strengths and weaknesses. Insightful, especially to those people who work with students who may have come from disadvantaged backgrounds.… (meer)
