"Over the wicket" is the sequel to "Around the wicket" which was apparently popular enough to require a follow-up. "Over the wicket" has many a cricket-related anecdote, featuring both giants of the game and weekend amateurs, but sadly, for me at least, none raise a grin as promised by the backcover.

In retrospect, perhaps the most unfortunate part is the section on Queensland fast bowler Ian King and how he spent his lunch breaks playing with children, as the fact he is now in gaol for molesting small cildren gives the reader an uncomfortable feeling.… (meer)
