Superb! Without a doubt one of the best Great Courses series I've listened to. Bob Brier really knows his stuff, and his delivery is conversational, engaging and fun.

A good book, but the spelling and sentence structure errors diminish the fun of reading it.

Some interesting history here, and a number of rabbit holes that were interesting and well worth the trip. My biggest complaint is that this was a very surface-level overview that ended far too soon. I would have like it to be three times longer and dealt at a much greater depth with its fascinating subjects. I did enjoy the archaeological and architectural insights proffered along the way, but I wanted more. Dr. Brier is an excellent raconteur.
