Korte biografie
Terri Brisbin lives in the southern New Jersey suburbs, she spends her time being a married mom of three boys as well as a dental hygienist of hundreds.

After being a voracious reader all of her life and a writer for most of it (poetry, short stories, dental hygiene care notes and patient reports, etc.!), Terri found romance novels (again) in 1991 and began writing romance fiction in late 1994. Her first novel, 'Secrets in the Game' remains hidden in the bottom of her closet waiting for a good time to make an appearance. However, it was her second novel, A Love Through Time, that was her publishing debut in November 1998 from Jove Time Passages.

A three-time RWA RITA® finalist, Terri has sold more than 1.7 million copies of her historical and paranormal romance novels, novellas and short stories in more than 20 languages in 25 countries around the world since 1998. she’s been published by Berkley/Jove, Harlequin and Kensington Books. Active in several RWA local chapters, she currently serves on the Board of Directors of Romance Writers of America as a Region 1 Director. In the second book of the Clan MacLerie series, Rurik Erengislsson has been living with the MacLerie clan for several years while in exile, but his father, a powerful and wealthy Viking earl, finally summons him home, ready to accept his bastard son as heir. But before he can begin his journey to the Orkney Islands, Rurik must retrieve the daughter of his father’s counselor and escort her home as well.
Margriet Gunnarsdottir has lived in a convent for the past ten years and doesn’t wish to return home. Though she’s not a nun, she doesn’t trust Rurik or the men in his party, so she and her companion pretend to be nuns in order to protect themselves from unwanted advances. As the women journey north with the motley crew of Scottish and Viking warriors, Margriet realizes Rurik is an honorable man, but she continues to wear her nun garb to hide her swelling stomach—and the baby within.
Rurik and Margriet are likable, flawed characters. Love and romance bloomed slowly between them since lies and social status, and then the knowledge of her pregnancy, kept pushing them apart. The only sex scene is in the last chapter of the book, which was surprising.
I like Ms. Brisbin’s use of Scottish words. The description of the Orkneys and the Scottish countryside were beautiful, and the long, sometimes arduous journey north through Scotland seemed realistic. Ms. Brisbin really must’ve done her homework, so kudos for that!
Though I liked the story, I sometimes had a hard time following along due to the head hopping and the use of he/she, instead of names. I also found some of the details a little confusing (for instance, Rurik’s age doesn’t seem to match up to the years he’s been in exile). There are some unanswered questions as well, but none affected the main plot.
Overall, I enjoyed the world building and characters, and I’m sure fans of Viking romances would appreciate this book.

In the first book of the Clan MacLerie series, Lady Jocelyn MacCallum is shocked and devastated over her father’s plans, but she’s determined to do her duty. Her family’s clan is in dire straits, her brother has been imprisoned, and the only way to save both the clan and her brother is to marry the Beast of the Highlands, a man who most believed killed his first wife.
Laird Conner MacLerie needs a son and heir, but his savage reputation has prevented him from finding a suitable bride. Even his own people fear him, except for a few choice friends. After he makes a deal with the MacCallum clan, he marries Jocelyn and is determined to keep her at a distance, his heart forever belonging to his first wife, Kenna.
I really liked both characters, but Conner was hard to handle at times. Though he never physically hurt Jocelyn, he often disrespected her (as both his wife and the lady of the clan), showed little concern for her feelings, and treated her as a broodmare. But his cold, heartless side was understandable. The pain and anguish he suffered over Kenna’s death would definitely make any man build a wall around his heart. Even though Jocelyn was terrified of Conner at first, she was a strong woman and often stood up to him. Because of her strength, Conner started to see how wonderful and deserving of a woman she really was. Love bloomed slowly between them, but passion raged hot.
Duncan and Rurik, Conner’s friends, are awesome characters. Rurik’s book is next and I’m eager to read it.
As for the writing, I was sometimes confused as to who was thinking or speaking, but I was still mostly able to follow along. Anyway, I enjoyed this story and look forward to reading the next one in the series.

A Lady’s Agreement by Terri Brisbin
Unexpected Heirs of Scotland #2

Started with a punch that made me root for the male lead from the first page ~ Great addition to the series!

What I liked:
* Sir Iain Buchanan: knight, self-made man, wealthy, bright, takes charge, will not be taken advantage of, ruthless, will not harm a child, intriguing
* Lady Clare Logan: widow, wealthy, focused on educating poor youth, cut off by her parents, strong, resilient, bright, more open than she may appear
* The way Iain and Clare meet – mistaken identity
* The backstories of both though Iain’s was darker
* The secrets both kept and what their motivations were
* That the two are well matched in more ways than one
* Seeing the characters from the first book in the series
* Getting to know some of the supporting characters
* The way the HEA comes to fruition in the end
* Being able to visualize Edinburgh having been there almost a year ago

What I didn’t like:
* Who and what I was meant not to like
* Thinking about how ruthless some people can be and their total disregard of others

Did I enjoy this book? Yes
Would I read more in this series? Yes

Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade for the ARC – This is my honest review.

The Lady Takes It All by Terri Brisbin
Unexpected Heirs of Scotland

Having visited Edinburgh last year made this story come alive in a special way. The narrow streets on hills, high buildings, and history seen there was fun to revisit in this historical romance set in the early 19th century.

Another part of the story that hit home was the archaeological finds Joshua made and having visited several old Roman ruins in a variety of Arab countries. Hearing about the city in the sand reminded me of my husband telling my daughter and I that when he worked in Tyre long ago, he used to walk across the necropolis covered by sand…the necropolis that had been unearthed that we were playing tourist within.

With the looting of artifacts, we have seen recently in the world…a secret find that is being searched for by those wanting a treasure map or lies told to gain prestige about a huge archaeological find seemed all too real. Then throw in a romance that includes an enemy to lover’s element and you have a story well worth reading.

That the housekeeper was misrepresenting herself and hated Joshua was a given but how she changed and how he came to see and want her was as fun as Pottles, the butler, dealing with his own issues with the unwanted housekeeper.

This is the first complete novel I have read by this author, and I will definitely be looking for other books by her in the future.

Thank you to NetGalley and Dragonblade for the ARC – This is my honest review.
