Intended for the use of serious amateur theatre troupes, this book is exactly what re-enactors of medieval miracle plays (and other dramas) need. Simplest possible construction of costumes and properties with the maximum effect is Iris Brooke's objective. She brings a wealth of knowledge and practical experience to the topic. It's very entertaining to read a paragraph on authentic medieval footwear and then learn that bulky wool socks with soles sewn on give a thoroughly convincing effect.
