Donal Carbaugh

Donal Carbaugh is Professor of Communication at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, where he has received the Samuel F. Conti Faculty Research Fellowship and the Distinguished Graduate Mentor Award. In 2007-2008 he was Bicentennial Chair and Distinguished Fulbright Professor in North American toon meer Studies at the University of Helsinki. His research focus is developing knowledge about communication that is sensitive to cultural variability, with special attention to nature, spirit, peacebuilding, and intercultural interactions. His previous research reports have received awards in Environmental Communication. Intercultural/International Communication, and in Language and Social Interaction. His forthcoming book is Reporting Cultures on 60 Minutes: Missing the Finnish Line in an American Newscast (with Michael Berry). His principal professional pleasure comes from cultivating links among communication scholars and practitioners. toon minder
