Decent thriller, with a former Israeli-trained spy working to track down stolen money from a murdered man, with three identities. Lots of competing interests swirling around: South American drug lords, money laundering bankers, German police, Israeli spies and FBI.

I quite enjoyed this story. It felt more believable than many such thrillers and had a timeline that worked where our hero took years to conclude his case rather than travelling all over the world in a week.

This book reminded me of 24 the show. It had that same government/spy aspect. Although, I thought I would enjoy this book more than I did, while perusing its cover. I had no idea how much of the story was based on terrorism.
This is a typical story of a double agent, and his terrorist ties. Since this is what is plastered all over the news and papers every day, it was tough to read about as fiction. Once I got over the subject matter, I found myself becoming submerged into the intrigue of the main character Dan. By the end of the book, I had forgotten how little I originally disliked it.
A decent political thriller after all, and a must read for any fiction

Dan Gordon works for the US Government chasing criminals who have committed crimes such as money laundering and embezzlement. When he gets handed a 20-year old case with no new leads he doesn't realize the whirl wind that this case would take him on. He travels the world searching for the Chameleon, or at least searching for clues to find where this man has hidden.

This book was pretty good. Carmon does a great job keeping you reading. I hated when I had to set this one down. It is suspenseful, to say the least. There are lots of twists and turns, and most all of them are completely unexpected (at least I didn't see them coming). The characters are somewhat two-dimensional, with the exception of Dan Gordon, but the plot more than makes up for a small lack in character development.

Overall I'd say I liked this one. It was well written, and the situations seemed plausible to me. It was an interesting look at how a government agent gathers information and uses that information to track the bad guys. I will defiantly be getting my hands of some of Carmon's other works.
