This was a formative text in my early study of occultism, and I've recently been amused to find it featuring prominently in the early chapters of Dion Fortune's novel The Sea Priestess. Lord knows who decided it belonged in my high school library.

British investigator of psychic phenomenon HEREWARD CARRINGTON (1880-1958) was a member of the Society for Psychical Research and wrote many books on the paranormal. Despite many of his most convincing cases being shown to be frauds, he continued to study claims of psychic power and established a research society in the United States in 1921. > OEUVRE TRÈS RICHE SUR LE SUJET. — L'auteur est un grand spécialiste des projections à une époque où l'on devait trouver peu d'ouvrage à ce sujet (1923). Il s'agit donc d'un des premiers (si ce n'est le premier) livre très détailler sur le monde astrale et comment se projeter.
A noter que les techniques sont très différents d'un autre livre très riche : "Sorties hors du corps" d'Akhéna. Ce dernier se base plus sur des méditations ou autres exercices plus ou mins similaires, tandis que S. Muldoon (vivement conseillé par Akhéna) donne des techniques d'apprentissage très différentes : déclencher un stress, se coucher avec la soif, provoquer un début de paralysie du corps via un ralentissement des battements du coeur, utiliser la conscience passive ou encore l'action décisive de la volonté.
Livre très riche et monde astrale très détaillé, exactement à l'image de celui d'Akhéna. Tous les 2 excellents, je dirai qu'ils sont tous les 2 à lire mais que le choix des techniques dépendront de l'individu. (Oribase)
