In this poetry book there is a lot of creativity and variability. The illustrations are incorporated in the poetry. Most of the poems focus on the rhyming part of poetry. This book is great for younger children because the poems are mainly for enjoyment, rather than messages. There are crazy sounds, words, and pictures which all younger children will enjoy reading and having read to. (I enjoyed it myself) If you really think about some of the poems, and do some “close reading” you can get messages out of some of the poems. Other than that this is a great way for children to widen there speech and language with rhyming.… (meer)
