I remember hearing the news about Silme Domingo and Gene Viernes' murders as a kid but not very aware of what was going on, other than they were Filipino and it involved cannery workers. This gives a detailed picture of two young men determined to make a difference in their labor union and Asian community, as recalled by their colleagues. Very compelling reading about community activism, life in Alaskan salmon canneries, and Ferdinand Marcos conspiracies.
