This was a little wordy for the kids (6.5 and 3 years old) but they got through it and I think my older one got some interesting facts out of it.

When Justice Failed: the Fred Korematsu Story is told from the perspective of a daughter telling her father’s story as he struggles through the social injustice that Japanese-Americans went through after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. It details his journey as he fights for the rights he deserves as an American. Through the process, he fights the Supreme Court and all obstacles for his freedom.
Steven A. Chin’s book depicts the rights of an American despite the person’s ancestry. In the story, Fred Korematsu goes against all odds to ensure that he is receiving the rights that any other American has. This book will benefits students in grade three and up because it is a chapter book that is easy for students to read.
