The subject matter of this book is very interesting; prison ministry. The author provides various examples of different experiences he has had over his many years working with Daylight Christian Prison Trust.

I don't know if it was a good idea to mix the real stories of the inmates with Biblical stories about Biblical characters. The book is really written for someone that doesn't already know the Biblical stories, I think the comparisons would then be fascinating especially for a new Christian.

There is also a lot of doctrine contained within but again at a basic level which could be very useful for a new Christian or for someone that wanted to become involved in prison ministry.

I would have preferred to read one or two individuals stories in much greater detail rather than many stories with few details and without a clear ending. However, it was encouraging to read of the small number of very definite conversions in the midst of the masses of false ones. Also, there is no doubting the heart of compassion of the author for these lost and hopeless souls that desperately need Jesus and that is always something worth reading about.

This I agree with, however there is more to it than this. He touches on other things - but not enough to drag it out of the rut he is in.… (meer)

Each chapter entry is a little longer than you expect for a "panorama" overview. Also: (significant) interpretations are made at times without letting you know of the other options.
