210. I Remember, I Remember A Book of Recollections, by Cyrenus Cole (read 29 Sept 1945) I finished reading this book on 29 Sept 1945, when I was a senior in high school. Even though the author was a Republican (having served as a United States Representative from Iowa from July 19, 1921 to March 3, 1933) and I was a staunch Democrat, I was enthralled by all the things he talked about in this most interesting volume.The book is in four parts, entitled Pella, Des Moines, Cedar Rapids, and Washington. And now, over sixty years later I just might read the book again, as I well remember that it held my avid attention back in September 1945 and since I do still have the book in my personal library.… (meer)
