Korte biografie
Adrienne Corri, née Riccoboni, was born in Glasgow, Scotland to an English mother, Olive Smethurst, and an Italian father, Luigi Riccoboni, and was raised in Edinburgh. She attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in London and made her film debut in 1949 in The Romantic Age. Over the course of a nearly 50-year career, she had roles in films and television shows as diverse as A Clockwork Orange, Vampire Circus, Dr. Zhivago, Bunny Lake Is Missing, and Revenge of the Pink Panther. In addition, she had a major stage career, appearing regularly both in London as a member of the Old Vic company and in provincial theaters.
She also was the author of The Search for Gainsborough, a "whodunnit" book written in diary form, detailing her efforts to establish the provenance of an unattributed portrait of David Garrick that she found in the Alexandra Theater in Birmingham and believed to be by the young Thomas Gainsborough. She also wrote a scholarly article for The Burlington Magazine about the portrait and its connection to Gainsborough's very early work Self Portrait as a Boy (c. 1739).

She received the painting in May 1990 as part of an out-of-court settlement with the theater.
She had two children with film producer Patrick Filmer-Sankey in the 1950s, and was married to actor Daniel Massey from 1961 to 1967.
