Because it is written with a third person omniscient viewpoint and conversations are quoted that can not reasonably be know along with the lack of footnotes, I am left unable to know with confidence what is documented and what was imaged or reconstructed.
There is a command structure for the units on both side, a Bibliography (22 authors), Record Sources (~40 orders) and primary histories unit(3) and personal(3). This inspires confidence in its historical content and accuracy that the lack off footnotes or cites and questionable quoted conversations undermines that confidence.
I found the writing informative, detailed and involving. It covered Innovations in weapons and tactics that I had not read about elsewhere.
