If your parents could choose one gift to give their child, they would choose good health.

For that reason Miss Craig, the renowned exercise expert, has specially designed this program of daily exercises for all children from five to twelve years old-to help prevent them from growing up with the myriad of backaches, pains, and posture and movement problems (low back stains, swaybacks, knock-knees, bow-legs, flatfeet, pigeon-toes, etc.) their parents have.

From the time your child is five years old, he needs daily exercises-no matter how active he is, no matter wether he's athletic or not-because the way your child moves determines how he wil grow and develop. The damage can begin early. 'Bear in mind,' Miss craig writes, 'that children who don't exercise will be more likely to begin developing postural problems by the time they are teenagers.'

'But my child gets plenty of exercise, Sports, games, running here and there.' Miss Craig says it's not enough, and it's not the right exercise. In fact, most athletics have to be compensated for, since they are 'one-sided' or dependent on the forward thrust of the body or limbs.

'But there's an exercise program at school.' Your child's school may be giving him exercises that aren't really good for him. The may be too strenuous. Or the wrong kind of sit-ups. Or jumping jacks with stiff knees. Or backward bends. That's why it's so reassuring to get the benefit of Miss Craig's training in physiotherapy and years of experience working with children at the Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center.

'l'll never be able to gt my child to follow an exercise program.' Of course you can. You've alrady taught him other health habits, like brushing his teeth, washing his face and hands. And these exrcises are every bit as necessary. Most children love doing them, and the book shows you how to introduce this daily health habit simply and pleasurably to your youngster.

Marjorie Craig is, herself, a superb advertisement for her well-known exercise program. Born in 1912, she has (as you can see in the photographs in this book) a beautifully toned body, a wrinkle-free face and the gace and agility of a teenager.

Her first book, Miss Craig's 21-Day Shape-Up Program for Men and Women, was on the best-seller list for thirty-two weeks in 1968 and brought to hundreds of thousands of people the glowing well-being which is to be gained from Miss Craig's daily exercise program. In 1970 Miss Craig's Face-Saving Exercises as published and was, again, a best seller of enormous help to countless people.

Miss Craig has directed the exercise program of the Eliizabeth Arden Salons for twenty-one years. She has a B.S. in physical education and took her post-graduate training in physical therapy at the Columbia University Medical school. Her in-service training was at the Neurological Insitute of Columbia Presbyterian Medical center in New York, and she spent seven years there working on physical rehabilitation with men, women and children.

Miss Craig lives in Bedford Village, N.Y., with her husband, John T. Crowley.
