I wanted to read this one because I've enjoyed the religious explorations in Cunningham's novels and was interested in how her personal spirituality influenced her fiction.

Sadly, this book did not click with me. It's not that what Cunningham is saying is uninteresting, but I just don't think she presented her story well.

I often annotate my books. It's one of the things that drove me to begin purchasing books rather than reading library books! When I find myself writing a conversation with an author I know that it will be an enjoyable read. My conversation with this author began almost from the first page.

I appreciated that the author was so detailed and authentic in her descriptions that I felt that I was entering a lived world. I could walk through the abandoned estate next to her. I was terrified walking next to her in London. I had tea and slept in a treehouse.

I will admit that I had never heard of Elizabeth Cunningham before receiving this memoir. I am now interested in picking up a work of her fiction.

This is a book about prayer but mostly it is a memoir about how prayer and faith can change, grow and sometimes be torn. Then sewed back together stronger like a spiders web

My Life As A Prayer, Elizabeth Cunningham's memoir, traces her journey to find her authentic self as a "Pray-er". Through the many twists and turns in her life Elizabeth's story is not only interesting but inspirational.
If you are on a spiritual search, Elizabeth's unique approach to a multifaith path is for you.
