I have a lot of interest in ex-Soviet countries, and hope they stay independent. These are turbulent countries, and it will take awhile till they stabilize, I concluded after reading the book.

Curtis (read 29 Apr 2001) These country studies published by researchers at the Library of Congress can be interesting reads for one seeking impartial information about a particular country, and I have enjoyed the ones on various countries: Spain, Belgium, Ecuador, Burma, Indonesia, and others. This book unfortunately was completed in 1990 and so much has happened in Yugoslavia since that I did not find myself enjoying it as much as I had hoped.… (meer)
