Strandbrook College, Dublin is mostly populated by kids of; kids of media stars, musicians, artists etc., Our heroine is one of them, her dad is a rockstar, Alex lost her mother to cancer earlier in the year and her father seems to have buried himself in work to the detriment of Alex; who is in Transition Year and becoming a mess internally. She's not sure how to cope with the hangers on and whether they're sincere or just want something out of her father. It's hard and she's just not dealing well, particularly when a cute boy enters the frame.

It's a fairly realistic view of privilege and how it can insulate you from things but not everything.… (meer)
