Tommy the cat gets lost when he visits the ice cream truck.The ice cream man takes care of the cat until a girl who knows the cat shows up, telling the ice cream man where he belongs. The illustrations are good but not great. The text falls a bit flat. I know my cats react to the ice cream truck's music, but fortunately our neighborhood lacks lots of children clamoring to get ice cream so they really only know the sound and not the contents. Young readers may come away from reading the book feeling cats may eat ice cream when dairy products can upset their stomachs. This disturbs me. The book contains activities for children, including coloring, connect the dots, a maze, and fill-in-the-blank at the end.
