In this book Grover has a bad, awful day and everything seems to be going wrong for him. At the end of the day his mom tells him everyone has bad days and not to let it make you feel bad about yourself. This is a good lesson for children to learn about when things are hard or not going your way.

A cute segway from the original Pokey Little Puppy. Yes, he is still digging under fences to get out...but this time, he goes off and finds Sesame Street. He is treated with Star like qualities by the gang at Sesame street and he is fed as they throw a mini party for him. When he comes back home, his brothers all laugh at him that he missed his rice pudding and milk but he goes off to sleep with a belly full of food and content with how he spent the day. He knows he had a better day than the other puppies.

Unlike other Golden Books where a young reader can attempt to read the words here, this book is really meant for a show and tell. The word print is small and the pictures are big. And, if your child is not a fan of either one of these genre's, the Pokey Little Puppy or Sesame Street, he or she will not get much out of it.

This book is adorable. It is about a character names Grover who is going through his day and nothing seems to be going right. He hurts himself in the morning when he is trying to get ready, he was late to school, he got caught in the rain, etc. By the end of the day, Grover is so sad and grumpy, and needs some cheering up. Luckily, he has his friends and family there to help and support him.

I think this book would be very beneficial to students. It shows them that everyone has bad days, and that is o.k. They can always count on their friends and family to cheer them up!
I also enjoyed this book because although not many things were going too well throughout the day, the author walks his readers through a normal daily routine of a child, and students can certainly relate to that.

I loved this book as a child and would pretend I was Grover when I would get ready in the morning. Great for teaching children how to dress themselves. Kindergardeners would love this book as much as me.
