- Korte biografie
- Michael Dillon (1915–1962), the first female-to-male transsexual revealed as such in the British press, was born Laura Dillon. He received hormone treatment and surgical interventions, including a phalloplasty, circa 1939–1944, to complete his transition.
Dillon was the author of a critical study of sex, sexual identity and gender identity, Self: A Study in Ethics and Endicrinology (1946) and of a self-published book of poetry, Poems of Truth (1957). He also published books and articles on Buddhism under the name Lobzang Jivaka.
Trained as an M.D., Dillon practiced as a ship's surgeon in the merchant marine before being ordained a Tibetan Buddhist monk. He died in India -- with malnutrition due to the strict vegan diet of the order of mendiant monks he had joined probably a contributing factor.
